Privacy Policy

Revised version · 4 October 2026. Not yet cleared for publication: the live checks marked below and provider contract details must be completed.

1. Controller

Benedict Lersch · Zahnklar
c/o MediaMinds360
Lothringer Str. 17, 63450 Hanau, Germany
Email: hello@zahnklar-dentistry.com

2. Hosting through GitHub Pages

This website is hosted through GitHub Pages. When a page is requested, the hosting service receives your IP address and the HTTP connection data needed to deliver it. GitHub expressly states that it logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes on GitHub Pages, whether or not they are signed in to GitHub.

The legal basis for providing this website is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable delivery of our information service. GitHub’s published Pages information does not specify a generally applicable deletion period for these IP logs; we therefore do not state an unsupported number of days. GitHub describes its retention criteria, the entities GitHub, Inc. and GitHub B.V., international processing and transfer mechanisms in its privacy statement. See also GitHub Pages data collection.

3. Local content and loading the newsletter form

Images, YouTube thumbnails and fonts are included in the website files. Our own website code does not embed external video players, shop widgets, social media feeds or separate analytics/marketing scripts. Language selection applies to the current page; our code does not set a cookie or store this selection in localStorage or sessionStorage.

The Brevo form is loaded only after you select “Agree & load form”. The page first requests form styles and then form JavaScript from sibforms.com. These requests transmit your IP address and technical HTTP/browser data to Brevo. The legal basis for loading the form with your permission is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Our code does not persistently store this choice.

“Close form / withdraw loading consent” reloads the page and removes the form. This does not reverse data already transmitted and does not unsubscribe you from an existing newsletter. Consent to load the form is separate from the subsequent consent to receive the newsletter.

4. Contact by email or telephone

Email through IONOS

Our business mailbox hello@zahnklar-dentistry.com is operated through IONOS. If you email us, we process your sender address, message, any names and attachments you provide, and technical sending and receipt data. IONOS receives the data necessary to operate the mailbox and transmit messages as our email service provider. The data processing agreement forms part of the IONOS terms applicable to our contract. The purpose is to receive, handle and respond to your enquiry.

Telephone

You can contact us using the telephone number in our legal notice. As stated there, this number is managed through the service “Dein Impressum”. Where personal data arise during contact, these include a transmitted caller number, the time and duration of the call, and names or details you provide for handling your enquiry. They are processed to the extent needed to facilitate contact and respond. Besides the telecommunications providers involved, the telephone service may receive information necessary to handle the contact. This notice does not assert that call recording or transcription has been set up.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual enquiries. For other enquiries it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is being reachable and responding to enquiries. We retain enquiries and necessary handling records only as long as needed to address the matter and, where necessary, preserve evidence. They are then deleted unless statutory retention duties apply. Please do not send sensitive health information through these general contact channels.

5. Newsletter and double opt-in through Brevo

Purpose and provider: You can subscribe to the Zahnklar newsletter for practical dental explanations, new videos, and information about free and paid Zahnklar resources. We use Brevo for technical signup, contact management, confirmation emails and newsletter delivery. Brevo processes the necessary personal data on our behalf. The data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR forms part of our contractual terms with Brevo. Automatic freebie delivery is not part of the form process described here.

Form data: The embedded form is configured to transmit your email address (EMAIL), your actively selected consent information (OPT_IN, value 1), a normally empty technical field for detecting automated input (email_address_check), and the fixed technical language parameter locale=de to 0ba96c6b.sibforms.com. This parameter does not represent the language selected on the website. Your IP address and technical HTTP/browser data are also necessary for transmission. The newsletter form does not request names or health information.

Consent: Signup and delivery are based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. The checkbox is initially unselected and must be actively selected before submission. Your email address and consent are necessary to subscribe; you can use the rest of the website without subscribing.

Double opt-in: After submission, a confirmation email is used to verify the signup. Subscription is completed only when you click the confirmation link. This checks control of the address and documents your consent. Where signup and confirmation evidence is stored, it serves to document consent and prevent misuse or defend legal claims. Necessary preservation of evidence is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, reflecting the legitimate interest in demonstrating a valid subscription.

Withdrawal and unsubscription: You can withdraw consent at any time for the future through the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by emailing hello@zahnklar-dentistry.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Following unsubscription, your address must no longer be used to send this newsletter.

Retention criteria: Subscription data are needed for the duration of your subscription. After it ends, they are no longer needed for active delivery. Any further retention is limited to necessary consent evidence, a suppression record required to respect your withdrawal, or statutory retention obligations. Relevant criteria include the evidential purpose, applicable limitation or retention rules and the need to prevent further mailings. Brevo transactional logs are configured for automatic deletion after one month. Storage of transactional email previews is disabled. These settings concern those logs and previews; they do not mean that contacts, consent evidence or all email data are deleted after one month.

Anonymised performance measurement: Brevo’s anonymised open and click tracking is enabled for both marketing and transactional emails. According to Brevo, opens and clicks continue to be measured statistically but are not linked to specific contacts. This is used to assess email performance statistically. It does not completely disable measurement or anonymise contact data needed for signup, delivery or consent records. The implementation in actual emails and the applicable legal basis or any additional consent requirement still need a final review before publication. Consent to receive the newsletter or load the form is not treated here as blanket consent to all performance measurement.

Recipients: Brevo and the subprocessors used to provide its service receive necessary contact and delivery data. Your mailbox provider also processes the data needed to receive emails. General provider information is available in Brevo’s privacy policy. The specific Brevo contracting entity and its address, together with the applicable subprocessor and transfer details, still need to be added before publication. Inclusion of the data processing agreement has been confirmed.

6. External links

Links to YouTube, Gumroad, Etsy, Amazon, and information or legal websites are ordinary external links. They do not embed those providers’ video players, shopping features or content in this website. Merely displaying such a link does not cause our website code to connect to the linked provider.

When you click an external link, the external website is opened. Its operator receives the data necessary for that visit, particularly your IP address and technical browser data. Processing on the external website is subject to its own privacy notices. Purchases and payments take place with the respective shop, not through a payment form on Zahnklar. This section describes linking and does not address any additional processing that may arise from subsequent purchase-related contact.

7. Your rights

Subject to the statutory conditions, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You can withdraw consent for future processing. Under Article 21 GDPR, you can object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation; you can object to direct marketing at any time. Contact us at the email address above.

You may complain to a supervisory authority, particularly where you habitually live or work or where an alleged infringement occurred. For the address above, you may contact the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

This website does not make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.
